zero more classes, zero more books to read, and zero more pages to type!!!

Why I feel like I could cry: Because I am SOOO happy! I feel sooo free. With classes done came freedom for most. Not Jennifer (see previous blog...ahh). BUT NOW, I tell you, I feel like I could fly! Last night was the first night in a REALLLLLY long time that I could let my hair down (my long gorgeous, flowing hair ;) ) and not worry that I was having a good time when I should really be typing a paper.

Also, Steve came over yesterday and helped my mom and I hook up wireless at our house. YAY! Whenever I'm on my laptop here now I keep getting the Pinnochio song in my head: "I've got no strings to hold me down. To make me fret, or make me frown. I had strings but now I'm free. There are no strings on me!!"

I must mention that there IS something that could make me cry because it's something I'm very sad about...the price of gas. AHH...$43 to fill up my car today! Grr. Good thing I have a Speedpass at Esso and I don't have to go in because I might have looked pretty grouchy!

Recent Purchases: Garage saling this morning was great. I bought Pictionary (that's in good shape!) for $1 and an 18 speed bike for $30. I discovered two things in my travels from NW Regina to E Regina garage saling this a.m.--church sales are the best, OR sales in the East end. I love the stuff that those east-enders are calling junk. haha...it IS true: "One man's junk IS another man's (or woman's ;) treasure!!"

How I'm Feeling: Slightly ill, thanks for asking. I am going to go read in the sunny sunroom (go figure...haha), and if I fall asleep, so be it!

I also feel like I've accomplished something today. I met my neighbors to the north of our new house today. I was sweeping the patio in front of our house because the leaves on it were driving me crazy--it's spring, so let's not live in the remnants of winter longer than we have to, folks!! haha--and a little girl came over and, standing on the other side of the hedge that divides our yards, said, "HI!" I jumped ten feet in the air (no really...lol), and after I recovered from the shock, said a big ol' "HI!" back. I told her my name and asked what hers was. After we spoke a little bit about me being her new neighbor and of course about her doggy, her sister and brother, and her sister's friend who is another neighbor from down the street, came over and we chatted. They seem like tons of fun. I think the oldest were the girls who were ten, the little girl who said hi originally is four, and CUTE as a button!! I don't know how old the boy is, but he went inside before I could talk to him much. Guess I was scary. Then the three of us girls played basketball in their driveway. I think part of the reason I like them so much is because they asked before I shot if I'd ever played basketball before and I laughed and said "definitely, no"...but then I shot and swished (swooshed?) it and they looked at me with their mouths open and they tried to shoot a couple of times, gave it back to me (ok, so I stole the ball out of their hands ;)...tee hee) and shot again, getting it in again. They said I was amazing and puffed my head up. Then my mommy called me in for lunch. I think I've made some new friends today! haha...I love kids when they think you're great when really, you're glad that there's no other adults watching cuz you're terrible!! haha. They asked if I could come play again, and I said yes, anytime in the next couple of years! I'm excited. Maybe God will use me in their lives. Today at lunch after I had played with the girls, I prayed for the meal and asked that God would really bless our home here--that the people that come through it would not see us but would see Him, and that the people around us will see Him also.

This is already beginning I think. One of the reasons why Dad wanted to get out of farming is because he's a people person and being a farmer isn't necessarily the most social job in the world...unless you've been on the tractor for so long it's as if you're best buds with all the country music stars and "converse" with them on a daily basis (hey, stranger things have happened)...But anyway, Dad already knows most of our neighbors cuz he IS such a social person. He's going to love it here, I think. Mom too. Me too. *sigh*...life IS good. GOD is good!

K, still not feeling too well. Going to go soak up the sun and have a catnap, put together the new bike I bought this a.m. and go for a ride, and MAYBE, if I get around to it, study a little for Monday's exam. Nah, that sounds too dull. I'm going to read some Malcom Gladwell instead.

Over and out, all!
